Our iOS & Android Apps Are Here!

Our mobile apps are actually web browsers like Chrome, Safari or Firefox, but they have SearchScene set as the homepage and the default search engine. Our iOS app also allows you to set SearchScene as the new tab, while our Android app displays a prominent link to SearchScene from the top of each new tab you open. Either way, you are only ever one tap away from SearchScene.

Our apps are currently only available in the US, UK, Canada, Germany and France, but we hope to be able to make them available in more countries, starting in January 2022.

Enhanced Privacy Protection

By using the SearchScene search engine, not only do you help save the planet with every search you make, but your searches are also private – we don’t save your searches, we don’t store the websites you visit and we don’t track you across the web. All your searches are SSL-encrypted and we don’t sell your data to advertisers or third-parties. But there’s more… because our mobile apps are based on Firefox, you will also get all the enhanced security and privacy protection that you’d expect from Firefox, which extends beyond our search engine to every other website you visit. This means that our SearchScene apps remove cross-site tracking cookies, social trackers, cryptominers and fingerprinters from every website you visit.

You Can Now Install SearchScene on All Your Devices

Our mobile apps are not just for your phone, you can also install them on your iPad or Android tablet. And because we also have browser extensions available for your desktop browsers (for Chrome, Firefox and Edge browsers), that means you can install SearchScene on all your devices.

In the near future, you will also be able to sign-in to SearchScene, which will allow you to synchronise your search counter across all your devices. Stay tuned for more on this!

A First-Class Search Experience on the Go!

As with our desktop site, our mobile search results are organised in a user-friendly way, giving you the latest web results with embedded images, videos, news, weather, timezone answers, instant answers, a calculator, dictionary definitions and translations, as well as full-featured knowledge panels (with tabs), just as you’d expect from Google. And of course, as with our desktop site, we also provide a link to Google at the top and bottom of all our search results, allowing you to repeat your search on Google with just one tap (for those very rare occasions when you can’t find what you’re looking for on SearchScene). With this in mind, there really is no reason not to use SearchScene (and plenty of reasons to use it – added privacy and the fact that 95% of all our profits from search ads go to charities that help fight climate change).

Our mobile apps are also fully-configurable. Want to just use SearchScene as your homepage but keep Google as your default search engine? No problem! You can choose any default search engine you like. Our iOS app also lets you specify your homepage and new tab page.
