Create or Join a Group

You can now create or join groups on SearchScene and raise tokens for charity as a group. You can then view your collective group impact.

When you’re part of a group, all the tokens you raise via your searches will be added to your group’s total. This is no way affects your privacy – no one else can see what you searched for. We don’t collect that data anyway!

SearchScene was always about what we can achieve when we all work together, so hopefully this new feature will facilitate that.

You can access the “My Groups” page by clicking on the link within the charity drop-down menu, as shown below.

Private vs Public Groups

Groups can be private (only people with a link can join) or public (anyone can join). You can also restrict public groups by email domain name, e.g. if someone from the University of Exeter created a “University of Exeter” group, they could restrict it to members who are signed in with an email address like “[email protected]”.

Note that you will need to be signed in to create or join a group.

Why not create a public group for your university, school, business, class, sports club, or create a private friends or family group?

You can join up to 10 groups, and the tokens you’ve raised for charity will contribute to each of your group’s tokens.

View Your Group’s Collective Impact

To view your group’s collective impact, visit your “My Groups” page and click on the “View this group’s impact” link or click on the tokens button, as shown below…

Improve Your CSR (Corporate Sustainability Report)

View Your Individual Impact

You can now also view your individual impact, by clicking on the “View my impact” link within the charities drop-down box…

Individual impacts are usually low, so why not create a group, invite some friends and let’s see what we can achieve when we all work together!
